Senator Miller moved to amend the bill on page forty-nine, section eleven, line thirty-one, after the word “imprisonment” by changing the period to a colon and inserting the following proviso: Provided, That in addition to any reporting required by this article, any owner, publisher, editor or employee who accepts a monetary benefit to advocate or oppose editorially, any candidate for nomination or election, or any political party, or any measure to be submitted to the vote of the people, shall disclose the identity of the person who made the payment and the amount of the payment in the first sentence of any column that contains such editorial advocacy or opposition.
